Tell Me
If you know me then you know how much I love broadway musicals. One of my favorite parts about them is how they always seem to have one big romantic love song that is so powerful and so heart wrenchingly beautiful. In Aida there is Elaborate Lives, Miss Saigon has Last Night of the World, Phantom of the Opera has All I Ask of You, and Aspects of Love has Seeing is Believing. For years I've had a melody in my head and I knew that if my life were a musical (which sometimes I embarrassingly enough pretend that it is) that this would be my one special love theme that would play throughout it. Sadly, I couldn't ever seem to finish it and I didn't know why. It drove me crazy. It was always on my back burner until my incredible sister inspired me with one of her amazing books she wrote. This book has captured a huge part of my heart and I've changed and grown in so many ways because of it. I knew right away that I hadn't been able to finish this song because I didn't know the complete story of it. Once I read my sisters words and grew to love this character in her story, I knew exactly where it should go and what the lyrics should say. It all came in one exciting night and I'll never forget the joy I felt when I got to share it with her. It was like this character literally came to life and we could actually hear him singing. My brother, Clayton, has one of the most flawless and beautiful voices I have ever heard so I knew he had to be the one to sing it. I'm so grateful to have this song and to be able to listen to it whenever my "musical of a life" needs a little inspiring :) This song is called Tell Me. I hope you enjoy it and that it brings you love and hope wherever you may be.
