Waltz of the Wilis

Since today is National Dance Day I thought I'd share a song I wrote inspired by the ballet, Giselle. Giselle has always been one of my favorite ballets and I think the reason why is because of the Wilis (it's pronounced Willies). The Wilis are ghostly women who dance men to their deaths....pretty morbid really, but I always found them hauntingly beautiful :) If a girl ever died of a broken heart then she would turn into a Wilis and belong to Myrtha (the Queen of the Wilis). Their sole purpose was to lure men and dance them to their deaths. The man would be entranced by their beauty and music would creep into their minds and they would be forced to dance and dance and keep on dancing until their heart would give out...... SO...... this is what I picture that music sounding like. You can hear how the beginning is slow and seductive and then it picks up speed and gets more and more intense until the very end you hear that last final note which (spoiler alert) is the last beat of his heart. Haha! This makes me laugh typing it out and explaining it....it sounds so awful! I had to explain the meaning behind it because that is the whole purpose of this blog, but I hope you can listen to it and still hear a beautiful song! I guess I should give out a warning here as well. If you are a man and you find yourself hearing this music in a foggy graveyard or somewhere creepy, chances are the Willis have already got you under their spell.......... Enjoy your final dance........ Mwahahahahahaha! :) Hope you like it oh and Happy National Dance Day!!!
